Hollywood superstar Ben Affleck will be the latest actor to take on the role of the Dark Knight.
Variety is reporting the Argo director will play Batman in the upcoming, yet untitled Superman-Batman film.
“We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some,” Greg Silverman, president of creative development and worldwide production at Warner Bros. Pictures said in a statement Thursday.
“His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.”

In July director Zack Snyder announced that the caped crusader would face Superman in a sequel to the summer blockbuster Man of Steel.
Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also return for the film.
The film is scheduled to be released July 17, 2015.
This is not the first time Affleck will portray a superhero. He also started in the 2003 film Daredevil based on the Marvel Comics character.
